Welcome to the Texas Adult Driver Education Course (ADE-1317)

This 6-hour online course is approved by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) and is required for adults 18–24 years old who are applying for their first driver license. Adults 25 and older may also take this course to prepare for the DPS written test and become safer, more confident drivers.

In this course you will:

• Learn Texas traffic laws, road signs, and safe driving practices
• Understand the risks of alcohol, drugs, and distracted driving
• Develop defensive driving techniques for real-world situations
• Be prepared to pass the DPS written knowledge test

✅ Upon successful completion, you will receive the ADE-1317 Certificate of Completion, which you will take to the DPS when applying for your driver license.

👉 Important: You must spend at least 6 hours in this course. Each module includes timers and quizzes to help ensure you are fully prepared.
